Statement currency and main currency

Your main currency is the one your dashboard totals are shown in, and it can be any currency. A statement can be in a different currency. When you import it, Netmonth converts each transaction into your main currency, so a checking account in euros and a credit card in dollars appear side by side in one clear picture.

The exchange rate of each transaction's date

Using one rate for a whole month can distort your numbers. Netmonth uses the European Central Bank reference rate for the date of each transaction, covering more than 30 major currencies. A purchase made on March 3 is converted at the March 3 rate, so your totals reflect what you actually spent.

  • European Central Bank reference rates
  • 30+ major currencies
  • Rate of each transaction's date

Manual rates and clear notices

If you exchanged money at a specific rate, you can set that rate yourself. When no reference rate exists for a currency, the transaction is kept in its original currency and left out of totals, and Netmonth tells you so. Nothing is quietly guessed or rounded away.

Moving? Change your main currency

If you relocate or simply prefer to think in another currency, you can change your main currency at any time. Netmonth can convert all your existing transactions to the new currency, so your history and your trends stay comparable. Number and date formats follow your chosen language: English, German, Spanish or Turkish.
