Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about importing statements, currencies, your data and how Netmonth works day to day.
Netmonth imports PDF, CSV, Excel (XLS and XLSX), OFX, QFX, QIF, CAMT.053 (XML) and MT940 files from any bank, in any language. CSV and Excel columns are detected automatically, and AI helps when a layout is unusual. PDF statements are read by an AI model.
Nothing is saved until you confirm it. On the review screen you can correct any field, add a missing row or delete an extra one. When the statement shows opening and closing balances or totals, Netmonth checks the imported rows against them, so a mismatch points you to the problem before you save.
Transactions you've already imported are flagged as duplicates on the review screen, so you can leave them out. This also helps when two statements overlap by a few days. If you saved an import by mistake, you can undo the whole import later in one step.
Yes. Credit card statements import just like bank statements. Refunds and card payments appear on the review screen, where you can set each row's type and category. When you pay your card from a checking account, mark that payment as a transfer so it isn't counted as an expense twice. Transfers are left out of income and expense totals.
Yes. Choose any main currency. Statements in other currencies are converted at the European Central Bank reference rate of each transaction's date, for 30+ major currencies. You can set a manual rate. If no rate exists, the transaction stays in its original currency and is left out of totals with a notice.
Netmonth is a web app that works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. There are no app-store apps, but you can add Netmonth to your home screen so it opens like an app. Quick-add lets you log an expense or income from any page.
On every plan, you can download all your data as a JSON file at any time. Premium subscribers can also filter their transactions and export them to CSV, for example for a spreadsheet or an accountant.
You can cancel Premium anytime, and new subscriptions come with a 14-day money-back guarantee. Before you leave, you can download all your data as JSON. When a canceled subscription ends, your account moves to the free plan and your data is kept. If you delete your account, it is deleted instantly. You can also exercise your rights under the GDPR, CCPA and KVKK at any time.
